About Imam Karim Abuzaid

Imam Karim Abuzaid is the imam of Colorado Muslim Society (CMS). He is a PhD candidate in Islamic Studies with the American Open University of Alexandria, VA. His studies are concentrated in Fundamentals of Islam and Quranic and Hadith Sciences. Imam Karim is a Hafiz Al-Qur’an, having committed the complete text of the Qur’an to memory. His love and passion of teaching Islam lead to his founding of Tafseer Al-Qur’an Institute(TAQI), a full-time Hifz, Arabic and Islamic Studies Program with branches in Lanham, Maryland, Sharkia, Egypt and Denver, Colorado.

An esteemed Daa’yah (one who gives dawah or performs outreach), Imam Karim is a fierce advocate of the understanding of the Qur’an and the correct interpretation of authentic hadith who is determined to share a correct view of Islam. As such, he uses his platforms as a presenter for Huda TV (www.huda.tv) and Guideus TV (www.guideus.tv) to do this through presentations such as Ramadan is your Second Chance, Story of Hajj, The Inevitable Journey, Righteous Companions, Building A Better Future, and The Best of Stories from the Qur’an. Currently Imam Karim can be reached for interaction on the live broadcasting of Let’s Talk About It, which airs on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday on Guideus TV.

He continues his passion of teaching Islam as a professor with the Sharia Academy of America’s Mishkah University leading students in the understanding of Islamic Creed “Al-Aqeedah Al-Islamyiah”. His expertise in Tafseer Al-Qur’an (skill in explaining the meanings of the Qur’an) has resulted in numerous invitations to serve as a lecturer for individual groups, training/motivational workshops and conferences. He is the producer and lead presenter for workshops aimed at strengthening the understanding of Islam as a faith. These workshops include: Burial and Shrouding Instructional Seminar, How to Perform Hajj, Ramadan Preparation, Last Ten Nights of Ramadan and Salah Workshop. His workshops are supported by published audio presentations and printed books of numerous titles including, Sura Al-Fatihah, The Companions of the Cave, Jesus Spoke As An Infant, and Parenting In the West all with Dar-Us-Salaam Audio Publications andMeanings from the Hijrah, Fear Your End, and You Will Die with Al-Bashir Publications. His consultancy in program development has been sought by other Imam’s and community leaders after witnessing results in efforts with community building through his life’s work.
